It was killing me so bad that I wasn't going to see my niece and nephew in Atlanta, that I hopped on a plane Dec. 18th to see them. We had our own special Christmas celebration. The Stebbins were celebrating Christmas all by themselves so it was nice for them to have family in town to make it feel like the holidays. I arrived Thursday night due to my poor planning of just buying a ticket and calling to tell them I was coming. It just happened to be the night of Lauren's School Christmas Play. I missed it but was able to take a cab to their house and spend some quality time with Grant, before Lauren got ahold of me. I relieved the babysitter and then it was nephew/aunt time. We played Wii, built buildings with blocks, watched a Christmas special....then his parents called and wanted him asleep. OOPS.....I quickly talked him into reading books and falling asleep...just before they arrived with Lauren.
We got up Friday morning and Leslie decided to keep Grant home from school. YEAH we all had Chick fil A for lunch and saw Madagascar 2. Lauren and I then went to get our nails done. She commented on my nails the night before and told me I needed a manicure. Yes a 6 year old giving me beauty advise. She was too cute. She was a tropper and we both got mani/pedi's she wanted so bad to get green on her fingernails. It hurt so bad to tell her no. My sister would of killed me. So we compromised and got pink and green alternating(a pattern according to her) on her feet along with some nail art. Snow flakes and snowmen. It was cute until she wanted me to do the same. I came out with the pink that matched hers on my toes.
John picked us up from the nail salon and off to the grocery store we went to pick up the last things for dinner. We made fondue with the kids, this was the first time for both of them. Earlier in the day I told Grant we were going to make dinner in the middle of the table and we had to be really careful because of the fire and danger. He didn't like this and went to tell his mom that Aunt Donna was going to build a fire in the middle of the table to make dinner. Once they saw what we had to do they were all about it. It was fun and everyone made it out unharmed, I just knew it would be my fault if anyone got burned. Poor John who didn't have lunch that day. Not the meal your looking forward to when you haven't had anything to eat all day.
So then we went caroling with the neighbors, this was my 3rd time caroling with the neighbors. It was fun and cute. The kids get so excited. Saturday the kids had a full day of activites piano, tennis, and soccer one by one they each got cancelled so it freed up the day for us to do fun family christmas stuff. We went and delivered Christmas gifts enjoyed the 70 degree weather playing outside and then off to see Christmas lights and to dinner. It was a great relaxing day. I then flew home Sunday Morning, to start the turn around to Tulsa.
