Sweet Melissa

This is the latest update on Melissa.

The news keeps getting worse for our sweet Melissa. The fluid build up is accumulating by the second and is affecting her breathing in a major way. Unfortunately the infection and fluid are taking over.
Melissa will be coming home tomorrow with the care of hospice. At this point the doctors have done all they can do for her. They just want to keep her comfortable with the time she has left and allow her to spend time at home with her family Mattie and Bailey.
It breaks my heart to write this message but I know that there are many people that are waiting on news. I am very sorry to inform you of the latest developments.
Please keep up your prayers and pray that she will have peace and comfort.
By the way……don’t think for a second that she is not still fighting…

Melissa Stamper was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a year ago.
From that day on it has been an all out struggle. Seven surgeries, nine months of chemo (with four different types) and the cancer is still progressing.
In addition to the cancer Melissa has had many other struggles. The latest problem is the blockage in her intestines. Due to the blockage she has been vomiting and not been able to eat in over a month. This presents almost as much problem as the cancer itself.
The doctor’s plan is to keep fighting the cancer with chemo and then move on to fix the intestines.
She has been extremely strong throughout the process and your thoughts and prayers fuel that fight. Thank you all for supporting Melissa and her family! You all are truly making a difference.
