The Family Beach Vacation Has Begun!!

While some arrived on Wednesday to stay in Downtown Charleston we all arrived at the beach house around 3 p.m. yesterday....12 of us!  The Stebbins drove from Atlanta, Brian and I came from Raleigh, The Turnbows and Twins are the ones who arrived Wednesday by plane from Oklahoma....not Arizona!   We headed out of Raleigh around 6:45 hoping to meet the The Turnbows and Twins for lunch.  HA HA HA.....five minutes down the road the Check Engine Urgent light appears....So this was like 6:50 on a Saturday Morning.    Well nothing opens until 8.   The first place we waited for a mechanic, when they finally opened they didn't have a mechanic on duty Saturdays.   UGH....We finally found someone to look at it and they said don't drive it and it will be a 20 hour repair!  YEAH!!!  The best way to start.....at least it happened when it did and not two hours down the road.   So back home we went to switch cars.....the rest of the drive was non eventful.   When we hit Hwy 26 we found out the Stebbins where 20 miles ahead of us.  They stopped for lunch for us to catch them and then we hit Costco together for some items for the week.  Once we were unloaded and cooled off we decided to go to dinner at The Wreck....the Turnbows had never been.    It is a hard place to describe.....you drive into this cute historical neighbor in Mount Pleasant then you approach the million dollar homes on the water and then hit pretty much a WRECK.  I was in the car with the Turnbows and Torry's response was "This is where we are going!"  Yes!   So when we pulled in it began to Thunder.  We ran in the door and got a table on the screened in porch the whole thing is pretty much screened in and has about 20 tables if that.  It began to Storm like crazy.  It was perfect.  On the water(Shem Creek for anyone who reads Dorthea Benton Frank) on a Screened in Porch with the rain, wind and thunder what a glorious atmosphere.  All they serve is Seafood so the kids had issues.    Grant is a champ and loves some fried shrimp so he was good. Lauren doesn't like seafood and then Cassidy had to be like her and say the same 3 year old trying to be like 8 year old!  Oh the joys of the week we have to look forward too.   So they give you paper menus and sharpies to place your order.  You write your name at the top of the menu and circle what you want. It was delicious......and the Key Lime Pie might of been the best I have had in a long time.  So on our way back the Girls hit the Grocery Store, while we sent the boys to the Liquor Store to find out they close at 7!  Jokes on us.....we have to wait until Monday now.    I feel it is my fault as I usually do a Liquor Store run in Raleigh before we come down.  So I declare Monday.....Margarita Monday!  Please join us where every you might be and have one too!     It is 7:15 Sunday Morning now and I have been up for an hour.  I am finally hearing some stirring going on upstairs so the fun shall begin!   Oh on  a side note when we came home from Dinner the we had the police 3 to be exact at the house next door.  In Eight years of coming here we have never seen action at this house.   We noticed it had new deck furniture flags flying everywhere.   So then the Fire Dept. arrived and 20 minutes later EMSA.    We decided it was a domestic issue.  Should be an interesting week!  So I am going to add a few pictures of my view.
