Amanda...This one if for you I am sure your the only one reading!
Well December came and went...I really don't remember! I spent the holidays with Brian's family. I worked alot at Williams Sonoma. How sad I have nothing else.
I couldn't even tell you how I rang in the new year...Am I getting OLD?
My Mom and I met in Dallas for Market. I wanted to go to see if anything could really excite me to open my own store that has always been a passion of mine. Nothing jumped off the walls screaming at me. I was on the hunt for serveral things and never found them. So back to Raleigh I go trying to come up with a business plan and the next adventure in my life. At the end of January we were invited by one of Brian's customers to go skiing for the weekend in West Virginia. So off we went. So the wife and I were talking and she asked me what I wanted to do..........she said that she just got an job opening email from her company for a position that sounded like I would be able to do. Apparently Everyone else in the company was scared of the position. Normally positions within the company are filled within. So she sent me the info and I submitted my resume. It was the first thing I had really been excited about since looking. Thankfully I wasn't forced to find a job immediately. I had serveral offers but knew it wasn't right for me. I wanted to find something that had longevity. I was with TSN for 8 years. I knew if I took a job just to have a job I would put all my effort into and find myself miserable a year later.
I submitted my application online on a Thursday and got a phone call on Tuesday right before 5. They wanted me to come in on Thursday. UGH I had a million things going on. I was supposed to leave town with a friend Thursday, I was helping with a Surprise Birthday Party on Wednesday night. Oh My suit needed to be Dry Cleaned, we don't have one day Dry Cleaning that I trust in NC like Oklahoma. And I had to somehow re-teach myself about pivot tables. So we set it up for 8:30 Thursday Morning! I had approximately 40 hours to get it all done! I Did It! I managed to arrive early and felt way prepared and ready to shine. I had been warned the person I would interview with was extremely serious and uptight at that. It scared me a little but I went in with the attitude Oh Well....he either likes me or doesn't.
To be cont........
